Leading Together

This workshop is an opportunity to grow in our appreciation of what it means to lead and be part of teams.  More precisely, what does it look like for me, as a disciple of Jesus, to join with others participating in God’s mission and ministry?  What are the challenges?  What does a healthy team look like?  How can we navigate theological differences?  Come and wrestle with these key questions (and more!) in an encouraging and stimulating context.

Our Facilitator: Rev Dr Andrew Nicol

Andrew joined KCML in July 2023 as a lecturer and Formation Studies Coordinator, bringing a deep passion for theological formation and a commitment to equipping God’s people for their callings. Over the past 30 years, he has contributed to theological education in a variety of contexts, including Te Nikau Bible Training Centre and the Bible College of New Zealand (now Laidlaw College).

Andrew holds a Postgraduate Diploma and a PhD in Theology from the University of Otago. A trained teacher, he served as Head of Religious Studies at St. Bede’s Prep School in East Sussex from 2002 to 2006, later becoming a teacher and chaplain at John McGlashan College in Dunedin. From 2013 to 2022, Andrew ministered at St. Margaret’s Presbyterian Church in Christchurch, where he also taught Christology for Laidlaw College and contributed to Alpine Presbytery in various capacities.

Andrew is married to Charissa, and they have four children—Elliot, Theo, Eliana, and Abrielle. He enjoys supporting his children’s activities, exploring new places, and serving as the self-proclaimed “glory cook” in his household.
