Welcome to our Video Reflections Library

Welcome to our Video Reflections library. The videos here are resources designed to help you with your worship life. They are designed to be used in place of a Sunday worship service but can also be used in small group contexts.

Each reflection offers the opportunity to explore faith through video, supported by readings, questions for reflection and discussion and a closing prayer.

What does it mean to be “salt of the earth” or a “light on the hill”? In this video we dive into the metaphors used by Jesus to describe discipleship and our potential for good in the world.

What is God Already Doing?

Drawing from Acts 8, Josh invites us to reflect on mission not as something we initate, but as joining what God is already doing.

Surprise! Practicing Discernment

How does cultivating a posture of expectation change our perspective? Using Acts 16, we take a look at how God goes before us.

Dandelions and Deckchairs

Dandelions just keep on growing – no matter what! Dan explores a simple message from Mark 4:26-32: The Kingdom of God will grow and mature, maybe even despite us!

Invited to Pray

Martin explores the heart of prayer – not just our requests but an invitation to co-labour with God. We’ll gain a new understanding of “your kingdom come” in the process!

Forgiveness

Lyn shares an incredible example of radical forgiveness she heard on the radio. As you listen, we invite you to imagine yourself in this challenging situation: How would you react? What would you do? This narrative prompts us to reflect on Biblical forgiveness, particularly as expressed by Jesus in Matthew 18 through the profound Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. What does true forgiveness look like?

Embracing the Wilderness

Abi explores the concept of the wilderness in the Bible and in our lives. It challenges the common perception of the wilderness as a barren and desolate place, revealing it instead as a place of encounter with God, testing, and transformation. Using examples from the Bible, such as the Israelites’ journey, Hagar’s flight, Elijah’s retreat, and Jesus’ temptation, she illustrates how the wilderness is often a necessary place where God shows up, provides, and shapes our character.

Throw the Nets in Again... Yes, Again!

Dan explores the themes of weariness, skepticism, and the transformative power of trusting in God’s abundance, drawing from the story of Jesus calling the fishermen in Luke 5. This reflection grapples with questions of how to respond when faced with feelings of depletion and stagnation, particularly within a church context. The ultimate challenge is to consider our own responses to God’s invitation, asking whether we operate from a mindset of scarcity or one of trust and possibility.
