Hinds Co-operating Parish

The Hinds Co-operating Parish was formed as a 50/50 Anglican/Presbyterian Parish about 30 years before 2014, starting with a full-time minister, later served by a local team ministry with a resource minister for 20% of the time. Oversight alternates between the Anglican and Presbyterian Churches. It is the only church in the Hinds district.

The Parish has smaller churches at Longbeach, Ealing, Windermere, Lowcliffe and Coldstream. These smaller churches or chapels are used on special occasions, sometimes once or twice a year. The cost of maintenance of all of them is met, either by the estates on which they are located or by specific trust funds established for the purpose. Accordingly the parish is called on to maintain only the St Luke’s property in Hinds.
